The Christmas market operates outdoors behind the Clock Tower, near the Graham Institute and the Co-op on Main Street.
Historically, there has been markets held in the village since 1631 when Linton became a Burgh of Regality. Thousands of sheep and cattle were sold annually at markets held at the present day Lower Green, Lyne Park, and later next to the Brig House Inn (now Medwyn House) near the West Linton Golf Course.

Note: Heavy Goods Vehicles are not permitted on Deanfoot Road between School Brae and Main Street (because they cannot negotiate the T-junction at Main St. without getting jammed). Access via School Brae (from the A702) is recommended.
